Cambridge Living and Sun Room
After moving into their 1920's traditional style home, our client quickly realized they needed a complete redesign of their living room and sunroom. The goal was to create spaces that accommodated seating for family movie nights, as well as entertaining groups of friends and colleagues. The large and long living room was designed with three seating areas, the first nestled beneath the front windows, the second clustered around the fireplace and the third at the opposite end of the room for a corner sectional and game table. The high contrast between white and blue green gives a modern twist to a space with traditional historic detailing. This room is very much a kids space, despite it's glamorous appeal, with all stain treated fabrics and board games stowed away in the armoire. The Sunroom provided a unique furniture planning challenge, being long and skinny, it made the most sense to design a custom sofa to accommodate the proper scale and desire for comfort. Many architectural upgrades were made in this project including new windows, tile, and radiant heat.
